To better appreciate problems faced by female inmates of the Accra Psychiatric Hospital, our Club interacted with the nurses, to have first hand information of some of the challenges they face.
We donated a 1,200 water tank to assist efforts in providing potable water to the patients at the Women’s Wing of the hospital.

As part of efforts to recognize women working in challenging circumstances the Club visited the Autistic Centre in Accra run by women. The Club interacted with the children and staff and were amazed at various ornaments and art works made by the children. The Club promised to assist them annually and made a donation of stationery and sanitary items.

One of our flagship fundraising events was a Barbeque Family Day held in 2009. Apart from raising funds to as-sist with our service projects, the Day proved to be fun-filled for many Zontians, their families and friends. There was something for each member of the family, including games (football, basketball, bouncy castles,) for the chil-dren, a sports section for fathers and a ladies corner for mothers.
