Solidarity Message – International Day of the Girl Child

Delivered by Z  Adodo Abla Adih-Nuviadenu (President Zonta Club of Accra Metropolitan)

Good morning, dear students, respected teachers, and cherished parents of THE FLOBAR SCHOOL.

On behalf of the Zonta Club of Accra Metropolitan, I bring you greetings of solidarity as we join hands with ICDP to mark the International Day of the Girl Child.

Today, we stand together to affirm that every girl has the right to education, dignity, and safety. Child marriage must not steal away childhood, dreams, or futures.

When girls are empowered, families are stronger, communities are healthier, and our nation rises.

We celebrate your voices, your talents, and your rights. To the students here, know that you are precious, and your education is your shield.

To the parents and teachers — thank you for standing as guardians of hope, ensuring that no child is forced into marriage, but rather encouraged to grow into leaders of tomorrow.

As Zonta, our mission is clear: to build a better world for women and girls. Today, we affirm that mission with you, and we pledge to continue working with partners, government, and communities to protect and empower every child.

Together, let us say: No to child marriage, yes to education! Children  repeat after me: ‘’Girls  deserve books , not rings’’.
